Just been on booking the November trip to Sunny Islay seeing the winter timetable is now on line and open for bookings and i found a slight discrepancy between the online timetable and the online booking , the timetable says there's only one ferry on a sunday back from Islay ( 3.30pm from Port Askaig ) but the online booking says there's a 9.45am from Port Ellen now !
Rang them up ( as i buy the 6 journey tickets....cheaper.....and you can't do that online) and they confirmed there is a 9.45am . So now we'll be able to get home a bit earlier on that trip !
Why can't they get things right on the timetable and save confusion ? Angry
Moral - ring them up to book and check the times !!!!!

I happened to look at the winter timetable myself this morning and thought nothing much changed with the one from last year, seems they aren't giving away all their information online. At least you are lucky with the early sunday morning one Big Grin Let's hope they didn't make a mistake Wink

There is, at least at first glance, no sign of a second ferry in the winter timetable. But reading timetables was never one of my strongest points Mr. Green

Hi ron ,
just been having a play around with the Calmac Online booking facility and there does seem an extra sailing for the winter timetable Mon to Sat , 9.45 am from Kenna -> PE and 6pm from PE -> Kenna , no mention of it being libel to cancellation (but i suppose it's still possible !) . With the extra one one one the Sunday (just looks like the one ferry running going off the timings) .

Gordon, thanks for the extra info, although I don't have a clue why that info isn't printed in the new timetables yet... calmac moves in mysterious ways Mr. Green

Got my tickets this afternoon , like the new look of them . Definitely got the Sunday 9.45am ferry on the reservation.
When did they change the design ? (It's been a year since i bought my last ones - 6 journey tickets) .

Interesting... I'm still waiting for my tickets but I booked last monday and they have to travel a bit further, just like me Big Grin

When I got the tickets for last May they were still the same. Is a 6 journey ticket for six return journeys or 6 single journeys?

6 single / 3 return Journeys Ron Valid for a year , saves a little bit on the cost seeing that we know we go over 3 times a year .
