Recently purchased a couple of books, that may be of interest:

Old Islay, a book of photo's which, like the title suggest, is all about Old Islay.
The life and people in the 19th century captured on photo.
Nice little book dating from 1998, so maybe a few people have it already.

Seanchas Ile: Islay's Folklore Project
If you're interested in Islay's folklore and the language, this is a nice book.
Totally bilingual, so the Gaelic texts are translated 1:1 into English.

Both at Amazon.co.uk, search for Islay

Yesterday the book was delivered.
Very good idea, the past and the present next to each other.
And the book was signed.
Got to pay him a visit next time I'm on Islay.
Saw his website, and I am very impressed by his photographic skills.
Beautiful compositions.
Why can't I make such photographs? Talent...?
