Wonderful Islay Weather

As the man or woman said, 'If you don't like Islay weather, just wait a minute'. And how true. This weekend saw us with a complete change from last week, On saturday and sunday we had cloudy but bright days, and the wind was so still that there was hardly a breath of air stirring.

On saturday it was quiet enough to hear the swish of feathers while Whooper swans flew along the Loch Gorm shoreline, and that was heard while cycling along the Kilchoman road !

Today, monday 3rd November it is gloriously sunny and the wind is nonexistent, it could be a beautiful summer's day, if not for the geese flying around and the bits of snow on the Jura hilltops. An amazing day...and a great day to be in Islay !

Update: Susan sent me this picture of Saligo Bay which she took today.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
