Wedding in Port Ellen

Mark Unsworth from Islay Studios was photographing a wedding today in Port Ellen. The couple were James Mackie and Helen Ayres, both from Port Ellen although James is originally from Burntisland in Fife. In the picture you can see the happy couple this afternoon portrayed with the Calmac ferry in the background. The ferry in the background is there for a special reason. Mark: "James was a cadet with Calmac attached to MV Hebridean Isles when he met Helen who was a stewardess on the same ferry, this was July 2001 and today they got married at St Johns Church Port Ellen, so it seemed fitting to place the berthed Calmac ferry in the back of the photos."

Congratulations to James and Helen, and lots of love, luck and happiness.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
