New Website for the Persabus Pottery

Persabus Pottery is a small, cottage pottery situated on Persabus Farm near Port Askaig on the Isle of Islay. The quality pottery is produced by hand and features exclusive designs only available from Persabus. Arra and Iomhor Fletcher also produce many items for the island's distilleries. The pottery was started in 1992 by Arra Fletcher whose family have been farmers on the island for well over 300 years.

Persabus Pottery is located one mile from Port Askaig on the Bunnahabhain road. The pottery offers cups, bowls, vases, lamps, whisky jugs etc. The quality is outstanding and the exclusive designs are based on motifs from the numerous carved stones and Celtic Crosses which can be found all over Islay. Persabus Pottery is also famous for it's hospitality, visitors to the shop are welcomed with a coffee or tea and home baking.

The last month a lot of effort is made to create a whole new website and layout for the Persabus Pottery. The new website offers up-to-date information about the Pottery, an explanation about the process of making the pottery, image galleries about Persabus and Islay (with slideshows) and directions on where to find them. New is the Bike Hire, which is available at the Pottery and run by Iomhar Fletcher. Bikes can be rented at the pottery, ample parking is available, or brought to any location on the island. The new address of the website is: www.persabuspottery.com

Within a few weeks the online Pottery Shop will open providing a new service for those not being able to visit the island themselves. Almost all the items available in the shop will also be available in the online webshop. Shipping to any country in the world will be possible and payments can be made with Paypal and all the major creditcards.

Arra and Iomhar Fletcher invite you to have a look at the new website. For information on the products or any other questions they can be contacted through the contact page or by sending them an email. For information about the website itself you can contact the Webmaster.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
