Stormy Night on Islay

The Met Office issued the following weather alert for Argyll and Bute: "Severe gale or storm force winds are expected over the Hebrides and the western fringes of the mainland later today and tonight. Gusts of 90 to 100mph are likely with some disruption to power supplies and transport, and danger to life. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to 'Traffic Scotland' for further advice on road conditions. Showers or longer spells of rain will gradually turn to snow over Argyll and the Northwest Highlands tonight. 5 to 10cm could fall above about 200m, with blizzard conditions likely at times"." The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
