Screen Machine on Islay

Islay is visited frequently by the Screen Machine, a mobile cinema disguised as a HGV, since Islay doesn't have a regular cinema in a building. The Screen Machine is an 80-seat, air conditioned mobile cinema which brings the latest films to remote and rural areas of Scotland. The mobile cinema tours to around thirty communities in the Highlands and the Western Islands and each tour lasts approximately 10 weeks. The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
