RSPB Feature on Islay Geese

The RSPB published an interesting article about the geese on Islay. The news article is called "Geese make Islay a winter wildlife wonderland" and is in fact an introduction to the video at the end of the article. A quote from the article:

The RSPB reserve of Loch Gruinart is a managed wetland that's particularly important for the geese, accomodating around 20 000 geese, out of Islay's total of around 50 000. The winter on Islay may not enjoy the long days of the summer, but the mesmerising spectacle of the geese taking off at dawn, and coming in to roost en Masse at Loch Gruinart at dusk, makes the island well worth a visit. Plus of course the Hebridean welcome, perhaps with a drop of famous Islay whisky, is all the warmer on dark winter nights.

The video, presented by James How, RSPB Scotland warden at Loch Gruinart, is of a very high quality and shows the geese around the reserve at Loch Gruinart. If you want to watch some more geese have a look at my self made Islay geese video or scroll through the articles from Teresa Morris, a guest blogger.
