Off to Islay

Finally.... after a break of 14 months, way too long but that was because of a lovely wee girl who became one year old today, we are finally on our way to Islay and hope to arrive there on the afternoon ferry on Saturday the 1st of May. We are staying three weeks on the island, at Persabus, and look forward to meet up with friends, enjoy the quiet life and we will also try to make several trips over to Jura and Colonsay. This also means that I won't update this blog for a while but I have found a nice alternative to keep you up to date, providing everything works out as I have planned. Fingers crossed....

Ferry arrival at Port Ellen

From Saturday onwards I will try to post daily images on a new type of blogging service called Posterous. I had seen Armin using it when he was on Islay during the walk week and it's a nice way to keep you all up-to-date. Why Posterous? I can update it from my phone. I simply send out an email to my Posterous account, attach images or video and Posterous will automatically make a blog post, update Facebook, add images to my Flickr account and sends out a tweet. Now this makes life easy hence my attempt to use it. Now before images from Jura end up on the Islay account and vice versa I have created three accounts, one for Scotland, one for Jura and one for Islay. This should hopefully give you an idea of our whereabouts. All the best for now and I will hopefully be back to blogging here around the 25th of May.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
