New on the Islay Info Website
Monday, July 30 2007
In the last few days I managed to create some interesting new pages on the Islay Website. First of all a page which shows the times of sunrises and sunsets throughout the year on Islay and the number of hours of daylight. This is an interesting overview and shows for example that there are 7hrs and 6min of daylight on January 1st, quite a difference if you compare it with June 15th when the sun rises at 03:31 a.m. and sets at 21:04 p.m. giving a total of 17 hrs and 33 min of daylight. Each month is split up in three parts, showing these data for the 1st, 15th and last day of the month. For a complete overview visit the Islay Daylight Page
After our trip in May I took almost 2000 pictures, most of them in beautiful weather conditions. A small number of them, 24 to be precise, are now available as a wallpaper on a new page, which will be extended in the coming days. These images have a higher resolution than usual, 1280 x 860, and do excellent as a background image on your computer. Starting from August I will also create a monthly background calendar image with the current month printed on the image. This will give you a handy overview of the current month on your computers desktop. The monthly background image for August will be available in the next few days so stay tuned. I will create a special link for this on the Weblog. In the meanwhile please have a look at the new Islay Picture Gallery here, and enjoy the wonderful views of the Hebridean Queen.
