More Snow on Islay

Yesterday I wrote about the first snow Islay had this winter which was photographed by Teresa Morris. Today Islay had more serious snow and as promised yesterday, here are the first beautiful pictures of Bowmore in the snow. brian (thanks a lot!) was kind enough to take them this afternoon around 3 o'clock. When I receive more pictures I will update this post but for now enjoy, this is something you won't see very often.....

Bowmore Main Street looking towards Loch Indaal from outside the Ileach office

Same viewpoint: view towards The Round Church

Barnacle Geese by Teresa Morris: The blizzard swept in across Islay by lunchtime on Friday. At Keills the Barnacle geese were well camouflaged in the blizzard amongst the rushes.

Scotland on TV have a special about the snow in Scotland on their website. If you like to contribute to this post with some more snow pictures please use the feedback form. Many thanks!

More Islay Winter pictures are available in a new Islay Winter Album in the Media Gallery.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
