Misty Morning at Ballygrant Islay

Often the best part of the day to take pictures is very early in the morning, when the sun is about to rise behind the hills and the mist is still hanging about. The image below is taken on such a moment, in fact a wee bit later when the sun just appeared behind the mountains on the Isle of Jura. The picture shows the Ballygrant Inn and my other favourite tree on Islay. What caught me by surprise when I came back home and looked at the picture was the rainbow like arch in the picture but without the colours. Is this what can be called a mistbow?

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
