For those of you who missed the Laphroaig Live event this week, and I'm one of them, here is the full video as it was transmitted from Harvey's bodegas in Andalusia Spain. "This interactive tasting experience will offer a further insight into the 'marriage' between the sherried oaky flavours from the oloroso sherry casks and the sweet flavours from the ex American Oak Bourbon barrels used in the creation of some of Laphroaig's expressions. We will be offering a unique insight into this maturation process by comparing Bourbon cask matured Laphroaig with sherry matured Laphroaig to assess how the flavours of the wooden barrels help create the distinctive taste of the expression." Islay is of course represented by John Campbell, distillery manager of Laphroaig. Although I personally feel that it would be more authentic if the event would have been held on Islay, preferrably from the Laphroaig distillery, I must admit that the current location has been very well picked, the atmosphere is wonderful! For now enjoy the 39 minutes of this higly interesting video.
