Islay Travelogue by Alan and Anna

I can write so many wonderful things about Islay, and in my opinion the word negative or bad doesn't fit to this perfect holiday destination, except for a bad winter storm but that's part of Islay life. Therefore I am always keen on reading about other people's whereabouts and how they experience the Isle of Islay.

Last week a couple called Alan and Anna, and their kid(s), made a trip to islay and wrote about it on their blog which is called a simple life of luxury. They stayed in a selfcatering cottage, 8 Westend, in Port Charlotte and as you can read for yourself they had a wonderful week with lovely and interesting trips and even windsurfing in Loch Indaal. A nice travelogue to read and it can give you a good impression of how people spend a week on Islay and enjoy everything the island has to offer.

A Quote:
All in all a good holiday, around 1200 miles of driving, 4 ferry crossing, over 70 miles of windsurfing, lots of walks, quite a few geocaches, some whisky, some Islay ale, Deer, Seals, Pea*censored*s and lots of other wildlife, sandcastles, standing stones, chapels, crosses and the usual unforgettable Scottish island laid back lifestyle…. We really do like the Scottish islands and recommend them to anyone.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
