Islay Sea Safari

Islay Sea Safari is based in Port Ellen and takes visitors to some of the most beautiful parts of Islay's wild coast. They can also arrange trips to the east or west coasts of the neighbouring Isle of Jura as well as to the north and the whirlpool at Corryvreckan. The islands of Colonsay, Mull, Tiree and Iona are all within easy reach via the Sound of Islay and it is possible to arrange a sea trip to any of these islands as well as provide a fast taxi service for any who require. With their new boat, the Shannick of Islay, you can expect some thrilling rides. The vessel can comfortably seat 12 passengers and 3 crew under its canopy. The twin Yamaha 422 diesel 6 cylinder engine provide over 500 horse power, and can sit at over 40 knots if required. They also have a promotional video which I found on youtube, accompanied with some fine pipe music.

    The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
