The Islay PDF Handbook

The idea for an Islay PDF Handbook started already in June and I can finally announce that it's ready to publish on the website. But what is this handbook all about? And why should you download it? I personally think it's a practical Islay Guide for visitors to take with you when visiting the island, providing useful (general) information, a map, distillery opening times, church services, activities, restaurants, pubs, hotels, phone numbers etc. and all that in sixteen pages. The handbook comes in a PDF format which means that you need Acrobat reader to open the document. The handbook is free to download, easy to use with an index page, and in a printable (a4) format.

We had an interesting discussion on the Islay Forum and some of the forum members tested the handbook during their travels on Islay and it proved to be a success, at least for them and I hope it will help you on your Islay travels as well. Of course a handbook like this is never completely ready and there will be more updates and additions in the near future. If you have any comments or like to make a suggestion please contact me.

I would also like to offer an alternative download option. Why not order this useful PDF Handbook through the Islayinfo Shop for 6 pounds. All the proceeds of this download will benefit an Islay charity and will vary with each year. For starters I would like to select the Museum of Islay Life to be the first charity for this year. After your order is placed I will email the Islay PDF Handbook and at the end of the year I will hand the money over to the Islay Museum. The choice is all yours!

The Islay PDF Handbook is available from the Islay PDF Download page or as a donation from the Islay Shop.
