Lossit Bay is somewhat hidden and can easily be overlooked. The Bay isn't visible from the road but access is rather easy, if you know where to look. When you come from Port Charlotte and take the road to Kilchiaran Bay and follow the road south you first pass the Cultoon Stone Circle and after that you pass Kelsay and Lossit farm, owned by two brothers. After a few hundred meters you cross Lossit Burn and then you reach a walking/cycling track to Octofad, on the other side of the Rhinns of Islay. It's here that you can park your car or bike. Parking your car isn't easy but with some common sense you can keep the road clear for other traffic. You can access the fields using the gate on your right. Keep in mind that you are accessing a working farm so be considerate when crossing the fields. If you keep on walking west you will reach Lossit Bay after a walk of one kilometer that will gradually take you over the dunes and down to the beach.

This is a great area to explore and you can easily spend several hours here enjoying the magnificent views and the lovely sandy beach. Swimming however is not recommended due to strong currents. Near the cliffs on the south side of the bay you can spot Choughs and further out in the Atlantic Ocean you can see the Frenchman's rocks. Lossit Bay can be particularly nice on a stormy day when big waves crash on the rocks.
