Lossit Bay on Islay's Atlantic Coast

Lossit Bay is one of the most beautiful bays on Islay's west coast and it is a great area to explore. You can easily spend several hours here enjoying the magnificent views and the lovely sandy beach. Swimming however is not recommended due to strong currents. Near the cliffs on the south side of the bay you can spot Choughs and further out in the Atlantic Ocean you can see the Frenchman's rocks. Lossit Bay can be particularly nice on a stormy day when big waves crash on the rocks. It's good to know in advance that there is NO car parking here.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
