Islay Jazz Festival 2007

  Wednesday, July 04 2007

"The best wee jazz festival in Scotland" - Martin Taylor

An extraordinary and totally unique event — a Jazz Festival which presents the best jazz you can hear anywhere in Scotland in the most unusual, atmospheric and inspirational venues.

Using the entire island as a backdrop you can hear world-class musicians playing a concert in a distillery filling shed, after a bird-watching walk, in the front room of Islay House or whilst sampling the home baking at Portnahaven.

"Ambience is all at a jazz festival and it is hard to imagine anywhere quite as conducive to laid back improvising as the Hebridean island of Islay ... intoxicating" - The Times

These are just some of the wonderful criticisms about the Islay Jazz Festival. This years festival will be held from Friday 14 September to Sunday 16 September and will see top class artists performing in top class venues all over the island. Last years festival was a huge success and this years festival will probably be no different.
