Islay ferry summer time table(s)

Calmac released the new summer timetables, effective 30 March 2007, for the Islay ferry (Kennacraig to Port Ellen/Port Askaig) on their website and they can be a bit confusing at first. Calmac uses two different timetables which makes it not very easy to read. Closer examination learnes that it's not that difficult. Here are the basics:

The Summer schedule is split in two parts:
Schedule 1 is effective from Friday 30 March until Thursday 17 May AND from Tuesday 25 September until Saturday 20 October.
Schedule 2 is effective from Friday 18 May until Monday 24 September.

Schedule 1 offers the following sailings from Kennacraig to Port Ellen/Port Askaig:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: Depart Kennacraig 0700, 1300 and 1800.
Wednesday: Depart Kennacraig 0815 and 1630. The 0815 Ferry also travels to Colonsay.
Sunday: Depart Kennacraig 1300 and 1800.

Schedule 2 offers the following sailings from Kennacraig to Port Ellen/Port Askaig:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: Depart Kennacraig 0700, 0945, 1300 and 1800.

    The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
