Disruptions on Islay Airport likely

Due to possible strikes by firefighters on several airports in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, including Islay, it is likely that disruptions will occur, starting Monday 30th of July, according to an article from BBC Scotland.
Quote: Air passengers in the Highlands and Islands can expect a summer of disruption, according to the company that runs the region's airports. Talks to avert a strike by firefighters failed on Wednesday. Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) said its 10 airports could not operate without fire cover. The first day of action is planned for 30 July.
Firefighters are angry at an offer of a 2% pay rise. HIAL said it had been accepted by more than half its staff. Inverness MP Danny Alexander said the strike would damage the local economy at the height of the tourist season.
Update 24 July: Industrial action planned at airports across the Highlands and islands next week has been put on hold by trade union bosses. Following recent talks the union Unite, which represents fire fighters and engineers, said it had suspended action to allow further negotiations. To be continued....
