Islay Whisky Distilleries and Photography
Tuesday, August 12 2008
Time to introduce another new Islay website after yesterday's Islay Web Directory. In a way the title of this post says it all and the website I'm referring to is a new one for Mark Unsworth from Islay Studios, Islay's best known Bruichladdich based photographer. The new website holds a huge amount of excellent whisky related photographs and is a must to visit for locals and visitors alike. Mark writes the following on his new website:
Welcome to Islay Whisky Photography, the website that covers, photographically the operations of all the Islay Malt Whisky Distilleries. The Isle of Islay in the Inner Hebrides is a specific centre for whisky production, Islay whiskies being generally fairly peaty in nature compared to Highland and Lowland malts. Currently there are eight distilleries producing whisky on the island with a ninth due to start construction in early 2009. My style is generally natural using available daylight to capture the actual scene rather than create a scene using lighting or in a studio. All the distilleries are clients of mine, prints are available to purchase and I am able to undertake specific commissions as well.
For me it was a pleasure to build this website and I hope it will be just as much fun for you to watch the many beautiful and interesting pictures from the whisky Isle of Islay. There are five categories of images; pr photography, distillery buildings, miscellaneous, bottles and products and production photography. Enough talking for now, time for a visit! Enjoy!
