Islay Visitors Welcome Evenings 2009

I received the 2009 dates for the Visitors Welcome Evenings last week. The evenings are organised by the Islay & Jura Tourism and Marketing Group. This years welcome evenings take place Monday nights at 8pm, admission is free. The Welcome Evenings are always fun and interesting and I can certainly recommend them if you want to learn a bit more about Islay and like to be entertained with music, song, dance and receive useful information at the same time. The evening usually ends with a raffle, a dram and clootie dumpling.

I have updated the Islay Calendar with the dates and venues which you can find below as well:

May
3rd (Sun) - Ballygrant Hall, 11th - Lagavulin Distillery, 18th - Islay Natural History Centre, 25th - Feis Ile (No Visitors’ Evening)

I will be staying on Islay during the week of 22nd June and would love to attend the visitors welcome evening on Jura. Can anyone tell me if there is a late sailing for visitors to get back to Islay on this day?

Keith.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
