Islay Visitors Welcome Evenings 2008

Today I received the 2008 dates for the Visitors Welcome Evenings which are organised by the Islay & Jura Tourism and Marketing Group. This years welcome evenings take place on Monday nights at 8pm, admission is free. The Welcome Evenings are always fun and interesting and I can certainly recommend them if you want to learn a bit more about Islay and like to be entertained with music, song, dance and receive useful information at the same time. The evening always ends with a raffle, a dram and clootie dumpling.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
