It was a pleasure for me to find a huge collection of absolutely brilliant Islay pictures on Flickr this afternoon. Ewan Graham, the proud owner of these pictures, pointed the collection out to me. Ewan lives on Islay, works at the Ballygrant Inn and is a very keen and talented photographer. His album currently holds over 500 pictures and there are 407 pictures of Islay available. It's not an easy task to watch every picture but when you use the slideshow option and combine it with a nice dram the task becomes very pleasant and rewarding. Ewan was kind enough to let me show a few pictures on my blog to give you an idea how stunning his pictures really are. My personal favourite, yes I watched them all, is the picture of the swan at Loch Ballygrant which shows an almost paradise-like and idyllic scene with the Paps of Jura reflecting in the water. His other pictures are taken all over the island and show lovely sunsets, dramatic colours, the distilleries, Islay's beautiful landscapes, the reconstruction works at Port Askaig, more stunning images of Loch Ballygrant and some beautiful tree silhouettes against purple and dark-blue skies which are amongst my favourites as well.
Ewan hopes to set up a business in the future selling his photos as prints as well as other gifts. At this moment Ewan has a photobox pro gallery at www.photoboxgallery.com/isleofislayphotography where you can buy some of his amazing pictures. He also has plans for a new website and online shop so stay tuned for updates on that.
