Islay House Community Garden on TV

Islay House Community Garden will be on TV on Tuesday 22nd September @ 8.30pm BBC Alba (Sky Channel 168). The programme is called Anns a' Gharradh (in the garden). A quote from www.terntv.co.uk explains what you can expect: "Anns a' GhĂ rradh is a new series of community gardening programmes which show that if they can do it there, then we can do it anywhere. Our brand new presenting duo will be getting their hands dirty all over Scotland as they assist the community members to meet their aspirations with the large scale projects that are taking root. Calina MacDonald is our gardening guru, and Eilidh MacInnes is her eager sidekick, an enthusiastic amateur who is asking the questions to which we all want to know the answers.

Each programme will feature the progress of our three community gardens in Islay, Barra and Tain, which offer hugely diverse growing conditions and environments. We will follow the gardens and the people who have created them through the seasonal cycles. We will also leave the community garden to find other gardening stories in the area, and meet some green-fingered locals who can give us tips for gardening in these three very different places."

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
