New Staff Member Rukmini Devi I’m sure everybody remembers the wildest and stormy day of 23rd May 2011. It was my first day at work at the Islay Natural History Trust Visitor Centre. I was very excited and a bit nervous, because it’s a different nature of job compared to my past experiences. So far working here has been a challenging and a learning process. Getting to know about Islay, which has such an abundance of nature with many different species and a variety of habitats, makes my job more interesting and enjoyable so I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work here. Rukmini is portrayed in the picture (right) while releasing butterflies together with Centre Manager Becky Williamson (left).

Visitor evening Our second visitor evening was another success with about 55 people attending and being treated to Ella Edgar and her dancers and several other entertainers. Thanks to all for making it such an enjoyable evening.
