Islay Festival Flyer 1989

Jean-Marc Danquigny sent me images of a 1989 Feis Ile flyer for which I'm very grateful. I have posted this article under whisky and distilleries but at the time these flyers were printed the distilleries were not as involved as nowadays in the festival activities. According to Jean-Marc Feis Isle back in 1989 was only in the weekends and ceilidhs were almost dry (clootie dumpling pudding and tea, a dram of whisky afterwards) and much jokes and story telling, plus some music. I think this flyer is fantastic and shows what the Islay festival was all about back then. A fine example of Islay nostalgia.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
