Would you believe me if....

I would write something on the blog today? Since it's the first of April you probably wouldn't believe me anyway, so why bother? I could of course write about a secret project that will link Islay and Jura with a bridge which is currently being investigated by the Argyll and Bute Council, but no I wont reveil details on that. I could also have written about spring arriving on Islay but instead the weather was pretty nasty today so nothing about that either, sorry! Or what about the thousands of suitcases being stranded at the new terminal 5 at Heathrow, you probably wouldn't believe that as well would you? Or should I write about the oil deliveries? The fact that the Keewhit visited Islay twice in the last few weeks and actually delivered oil to Gleeners at Bruichladdich, now that is really hard to believe!

There is something else I can reveal, I am working on a new and very special page that can make a lot of people happy, that you can believe, but I won't give any details on that as well today but you can read about all that really soon so do come back!

I would like to use this opportunity to make a final call for people to join the prize competition and win a very nice whisky jug from Persabus Pottery. All you have to do is spot the eleven differences in two pictures and you could win this Islay whisky jug, and that's no april fools. The winner will be announced later this week!

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
