Alexander Technique Centre on Islay
Friday, April 10 2009
There’s a new website for the Islay Alexander Technique Centre – it offers details of classes and courses in this well-known method of educating ourselves in improving our balance and health. The Alexander Technique is well known and used widely by performers, sports players and in education, and is recognised by the medical profession in helping pain and stress management. Islay is home to two teachers of the Alexander Technique, and Lynn McLean has set up the Centre to encourage both locals and visitors to participate in something people on the mainland sometimes travel many miles to find! Lynn ran a practice in Glasgow for some years before returning to live on Islay, and still works on a regular basis in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama teaching Alexander Technique to young actors, singers and musicians.
This year there are several courses running during Spring and Summer, and you can visit Islay to appreciate all it has to offer as well as taking a short course in Alexander Technique while you’re here. To find out more, visit www.islayalexandertechnique.com and contact Lynn for further details.
