For Argyll Awards Last Day of Voting!

Nominee Logo for the 2008 ForArgyll
AwardsI hadn't planned on writing anything tonight, after all I am still on a "blogging break". Fact is though that the forArgyll website is currently running a contest for Argyll's best websites in many different categories and someone, thanks very much, nominated the Islay Weblog and Islay Info website in three different categories. At this moment voting is open for dozens of websites from all over Argyll and Bute. Islay is represented by almost ten websites. the websites are split into twenty different categories, varying from wildlife and accommodation to blogs and events. Voting is possible until the 31st of December and the winners will be announced on the 1st of January.

If you want to support a specific website in a specific category please have a look at vote.forargyll.com website and work your way through the twenty categories. Since you are a (regular?) visitor of the Islay Weblog I would like to invite you to vote for this blog in the category best community website under the name (Islay Weblog (Ron's)) or best blog, same name.

If you want to support the Islay Info website and place your vote in the category best tourism website please follow this link. Alternatively you can click on the image on the right. I thank you very much for your support.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
