At Saturday 26 May the Islay Festival kicks off with a loaded programme. What you see here are the highlights of the festival week, there is much much more to see and do. One of the major highlights will be the "cutting of the ribbon" at the New Port Charlotte Distillery. No doubt the Ileach will print the full programme. Saturday 26 May:
Feis Market Local produce and other goodies. 11a.m. - 2p.m. In Bowmore Square. Stalls and BBQ and Live music.
Festival Opening Concert Bowmore Hall 7.30p.m.
Lagavulin Distillery Open Day Open Day at Lagavulin Distillery from 12Noon.
Sunday 27 May:
Bruichladdich Distillery Open Day 12pm with lots of events and "cutting the ribbon at the new Port Charlotte Distillery".
Artists performing are Norma Munro, Islay Pipe band and others.
Clootie Dumpling Ceilidh At Bowmore Hall 20.00-01.00hrs.
Monday 28 May:
Whisky Tasting Ceilidh At the Ramsay Hall, Port Ellen from 7.00pm
Port Ellen Maltings open day. Tours will start at 12Noon and finish at 4p.m.
Tuesday 29 May:
"Songs of the Islay Bards" Night Learn Gaelic Choruses for "Songs of the Islay Bards" Night 11.00-13.00hrs at The Columba Centre, Bowmore.
Bunnahabhain Distillery Maturation Talk and Tour of Warehouse 14:30 - 16:00
Ceilidh At Laphroaig 7.30p.m. Music by "The Lochsiders".
Laphroaig Distillery Open Day from 9.30a.m.

Islay Ales Islay Ales Open Day from 10.30am to 6pm.
