And the winner is..... Heather

Last week I started a little competition about the mystery Islay farmer feeding his horses. There were about a dozen people who responded to this question, but there can only be one winner....

The winner is Heather Bauld, tour guide from the Bowmore Distillery, she emailed the name Donald Fletcher from the Persabus Farm. Congratulations Heather! Now I have to think of a prize of course... I will visit the Bowmore Distillery in May and bring you a wee surprise. Promised! Thanks everyone for your response.

In the story I talked about Donald breaking a radio-reporters arm during a little arm-wrestling fight. Later Donald gave an interview to that same reporter, where they talked about the question if sheep are intelligent. For those interested: Click here to listen to that interview (this will open your mp3 player).

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
