Peat Cutting Ceremony Port Charlotte Distillery

With the weather being rainy I thought I'd give it another go and create one more video. After the Bruichladdich Open Day video of this morning I am ready with the next Islay video, which is the First Turf Cutting Ceremony at the site of the new Port Charlotte Distillery. This special and historic event took place just before the open day on the 27th of May 2007. As you can see it was a glorious day and quite a few people showed up in Port Charlotte. In the video you will see the familiair faces of Jim McEwan and Duncan Mcgillivray and the less familiair faces, well at least for me, of Sir John MacTaggart and Lady Caroline MacTaggart. I hope you enjoy the video!

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
