Bunnahabhain Distillery Part II

Yesterday I wrote about the boiler being hoisted out at Bunnahabhain's boiler house and today already the new boilers came in to place. Seems like a carefully planned operation and they were quite lucky with the weather, which shows on the pictures. Today Mark from Islay Studios was present at the distillery and he was kind enough to send me the latest pictures from the replacement of the huge boilers. Many thanks for this Mark!

I have checked the Bunnahabhain Website but wasn't able to find any more information about the reopening of the distillery. I will update this post when more info comes available. For now enjoy the beautiful pictures!

Update from Mark Unsworth: Bunnahabhain Distillery is shut down production wise for a total of seven weeks, I think we are in week two or three now. Next week was the start of their two week silent season when the bulk of the production staff take their holidays anyway, but I'm not sure what's happening about visitor tours etc.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
