Bruichladdich distillery’s Bottling Hall, the Harvey Room, in production at the Bruichladdich Open Day on Sunday 25th May 2003. Bruichladdich whisky can now be distilled, matured and bottled on Islay, making it currently unique amongst the Islay malts. The Islay Pillaged Malt (see last issue) will also make its way to the plant to be bottled to raise, hopefully, lots of money for local charities. The Harvey Room, brainchild of Jim McEwan of Bruichladdich is already in production with one bottling line but has been so equipped that a second line could be speedily installed if consumer demand required. Bruichladdich also received their Investors in People Award at a brief ceremony prior to the opening of the bottling plant.
