BBC Springwatch last episode - Islay is a cracking spot

Tonight was the last "Live from Islay" episode of BBC Springwatch. Simon King and the team did an amazing job in showing the best of wildlife Islay has to offer. Stars of the show were the Golden Eagles, Hen Harriers, Choughs, Otters and all the other magnificent animals on Islay.

Springwatch closed the series from Islay with a stunning video from the island, both from the land and from the air. It must be a privilage to stay on Islay for three weeks as a wildlife reporter and Simon King must have enjoyed it. He was giving the people of Islay a big compliment, calling them very friendly and hospitable. He said Islay is a cracking spot and closed the show with a dram.

As a result of the magnificent television we have seen from Islay, the island will probably see a lot of new visitors, which is good news for Islay. Hopefully the team will return to Islay next year but first it's autumnwatch where Simon King will be following the deer on Rum.

The Maggie

Buy The Maggie from Amazon The Maggie is one of Ealing studios lesser known comedies. It is however a 'gem' in the true sense of the word. The film has everything, humour, tragedy, pathos, romance. A wily old skipper of a Western Isles 'Puffer' and his motley crew lead all who come into contact with them a fine old time!
